Real-Time Spectral and Colour Data
BlackFusion is the software suite that brings RGB and hyperspectral data together in a single, coherent workflow. It is designed to enable the combined use of the BlackIndustry RGB and BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 cameras in industrial sorting and inspection applications.
By handling calibration and spatial and temporal registration of SWIR and RGB data, BlackFusion enables reliable sensor fusion without adding unnecessary system complexity. The software suite provides a C++ API for seamless and efficient integration into existing systems and workflows. Setup and calibration are quick and straightforward with the BlackFusion GUI. The resulting calibration data can be used directly with the C++ API, simplifying integration into your own software. With data preprocessing taken care of, users can focus on application performance rather than software integration.
Sensor fusion of RGB and SWIR hyperspectral data
The BlackFusion software enables the spatial alignment of HSI and colour data using synchronised real-time time stamps and spatial pixel-to-pixel mapping. The digital mapping of the cameras to a shared scan line ensures the sensor fusion and combined data acquisition.
Live Classification and Data Preprocessing
With the on-camera classifier of the BlackIndustry cameras, BlackFusion can receive raw hyperspectral data as well as classified data. An optional HSV colour classification is possible by simply using the HSV colour classificator and creating HSV classes in the HAIP RGB Train Tool.
Real-Time RGB, HSI and Combined Sorting
BlackFusion enables easy-to-use calibration of actuators (for example air valves or ejectors) for sorting applications.
Combined with an additional real-time compute unit, actuators can be calibrated, controlled and monitored.

Combined technology
SWIR and RGB combined
The combined use of hyperspectral and RGB cameras enables inspection and sorting of materials based on chemical and colour information. The BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 camera series and BlackIndustry RGB are designed to work together for this combined data acquisition. To ensure reliable data acquisition, HAIP Solutions also provides dedicated illumination units.
