Easy scanning system for hyperspectral imaging
The ready-to-use solution
The BlackIndustry Station is a ready-to-use scanning system for hyperspectral imaging.
It is specifically designed for laboratory use, research and at-line inspection tasks and also high-throughput measurements for industrial applications.
The BlackIndustry Station enables fast and reliable acquisition of hyperspectral data under controlled conditions and provides an ideal environment for developing and testing new applications. From first feasibility studies to the optimisation of chemometric models, the system supports the entire workflow of hyperspectral data generation and analysis.
In combination with the BlackIndustry hyperspectral cameras, the BlackBright FMWIR illumination system and software tools, the BlackIndustry Station becomes a complete solution for data acquisition, analysis and application development. Also the combined use of the BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 series and BlackIndustry RGB camera and BlackBright RGB LED illumination is possible.
Intuitive workflow
The system is designed to make hyperspectral data acquisition as straightforward and reliable as possible. By combining camera mounting, illumination and sample movement in one system, it provides a ready-to-use setup for generating high-quality hyperspectral data under controlled conditions. This allows users to work with hyperspectral imaging, without the need for complex system integration.
Flexible analysis
The station provides an ideal environment for developing and testing hyperspectral applications. It enables users to analyse materials based on their chemical composition, create and optimise chemometric models and evaluate new approaches for classification and inspection tasks. Typical use cases include material classification, chemical analysis and feasibility studies.
Compact system
The BlackIndustry Station is designed as a compact system for hyperspectral imaging that is more than a lab device. With its motorised linear stage, adjustable scan speeds and flexible configuration options, the BlackIndustry Station can simulate industrial inspection workflows such as conveyor-based sorting processes. This makes it possible to test and optimise applications under realistic conditions.

Combined technology
The BlackIndustry Station brings together key components of our hyperspectral platform into one integrated system.
At its core, the setup combines our BlackIndustry cameras, BlackBright FMWIR illumination and the full integration with our BlackStudio software. Each component plays a specific role in the acquisition and analysis of hyperspectral data, but the real value lies in how they work together.
By combining these elements, the BlackIndustry Station allows users to move seamlessly from data acquisition to analysis and application development. This reduces integration effort and creates a reliable environment for developing and testing hyperspectral solutions.

Illumination
The high-performance Blackbright FMWIR illumination unit generates a focused and homogeneous illumination line that is optimised for hyperspectral line-scan cameras operating in the SWIR range (900 – 1800 nm). Compared to traditional halogen-based systems, which often require high energy input and generate significant heat, the BlackBright FMWIR operates at a reduced filament temperature of approximately 1600 K. This also enables a lifetime of up to 10 000 hours, while maintaining low heat emission and improved energy efficiency.
It is also possible to get a additional BlackBright RGB LED Bar for the combined use of the BlackIndustry RGB and Blackindustry SWIR 1.7 cameras.

BlackStudio is the powerful software behind the BlackIndustry camera series, included free of charge with every BlackIndustry camera purchase. It is designed for seamless integration and maximum flexibility with our hyperspectral cameras. Whether in the food industry, recycling industry or any other optical sorting application – BlackStudio delivers precise control, real-time data acquisition and advanced analysis tools tailored to your needs.
- Real-time data capture with four different livestream windows in the Capture tab
- Direct data analysis in the Analysis tab
- Easy data visualization with numerous customization options
- Create data snippets and save them in a separate database
- Train an individual classifier based on the recorded data
- Perform live classification, e.g. with the On-Camera Classifier tool
On-Camera Classifier
Our BlackIndustry cameras with software version 1.0.13 and later, now feature an on-camera classifier. The previously in BlackStudio trained classifier can be transferred directly to the camera, enabling real-time classification of newly captured data using the Classified Color output mode. This allows classification results to be used immediately in production without additional hardware. By transmitting only classified data, the feature reduces Ethernet bandwidth usage and eliminates processing overhead on the receiving device, ensuring efficient and streamlined operations.
