Smart multi-line colour camera
4k RGB Line scan data
In many inspection and sorting applications, hyperspectral data benefits from additional visual information.
HAIP Solutions BlackIndustry RGB camera is designed to provide exactly this information within a synchronised workflow.
The camera is a smart multi-line-scan colour camera with a line rate of up to 30720 lines per second and precise colour identification. Together with the BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 series, it forms a powerful sensor combination for industrial inspection and sorting applications.
In addition to precise colour acquisition, the inline RGB data also provides a foundation for modern AI-driven applications in recycling and the food industry. By leveraging artificial intelligence, automated quality control processes can be implemented, enabling real-time classification and sorting directly within the production line. This combination of high-resolution RGB imaging and intelligent data processing supports more efficient, data-driven workflows and enhances overall process reliability.
Seamless integration
To ensure precise alignment of both cameras on the same scan line, the BlackIndustry RGB camera can be digitally mapped to the BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 series. This enables true sensor fusion and the simultaneous acquisition of high-resolution RGB data and SWIR hyperspectral information within a single workflow. The result is a robust and synchronised data stream that can be directly integrated into existing sorting and inspection systems.
Easy to use
The calibration and configuration workflow is fully supported and managed through HAIP’s software tools. Designed for industrial environments, the BlackIndustry RGB camera integrates seamlessly with the BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 series and supports reliable operation in sensor-based sorting and inspection applications. This reduces setup effort and allows technical teams to focus on application performance rather than system complexity.
Individual pre-processing
The integrated GPU enables on-camera pre-processing such as real-time debayering and data preparation for downstream classification tasks. This allows users to adapt processing steps to their specific application and system requirements. All BlackIndustry series cameras can be controlled via HAIP software, GenICam or dedicated C++ and Python APIs. Code samples are available upon request to support fast and efficient integration.

Applications
RGB and SWIr combined for industrial sorting and inspection
Recycling streams contain objects that differ in colour, shape and surface appearance. The BlackIndustry RGB captures high-resolution 4K colour data at line rates of up to 30720 lines/s, enabling detailed inspection of fast-moving and heterogeneous material streams. When combined with a BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7/Max/Pro Max camera, the RGB data supports object localisation, colour-based differentiation and visual validation alongside spectral material classification.
Colour, shape and surface appearance are important quality indicators in food inspection. The BlackIndustry RGB supports the detection of visible colour deviations, damaged products, surface defects and objects that differ in size or shape. Its high line rate enables continuous acquisition on fast production lines. In a synchronised RGB–SWIR setup, visible quality characteristics can be evaluated together with composition-related spectral information within one workflow.
Combined technology
Hypespectral Camera
The BlackIndustry RGB is developed for the combined use with cameras from the BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 series to capture visible colour information and SWIR data within one workflow. Digital alignment maps both cameras to a shared scan line, enabling spatially corresponding RGB and hyperspectral data. This allows visible characteristics such as colour, shape and surface appearance to be evaluated together with spectral information related to material composition.
Illumination
The BlackBright RGB LED Bar provides controlled and homogeneous illumination for colour-sensitive inspection tasks. Its RGBWW COB technology supports high colour rendering across the visible range. The illumination combines efficient LED technology, a robust housing design and practical system integration and is especially suited for use with the BlackIndustry RGB camera and combined RGB-SWIR workflows.
BlackFusion
BlackFusion is the software layer that connects RGB and hyperspectral data into a single, coherent workflow. It is designed to enable the combined use of the BlackIndustry RGB and BlackIndustry SWIR 1.7 cameras in industrial sorting and inspection applications.
By handling calibration, alignment and data synchronisation, BlackFusion enables reliable sensor fusion without adding unnecessary system complexity. This allows users to focus on application performance rather than software integration.

HAIP RGB Tool
On-Camera Classifier
Our BlackIndustry cameras with software version 1.0.13 and later, now feature an on-camera classifier. The previously in BlackStudio trained classifier can be transferred directly to the camera, enabling real-time classification of newly captured data using the Classified Color output mode. This allows classification results to be used immediately in production without additional hardware. By transmitting only classified data, the feature reduces Ethernet bandwidth usage and eliminates processing overhead on the receiving device, ensuring efficient and streamlined operations.
