We had the opportunity to attend IFAT 2024 and are thrilled to share some key takeaways from this year’s event. This exhibition showcases groundbreaking innovations in sustainable waste and recycling management, among others, with a focus on optical sorting technologies.
Textile Recycling: As the EU prepares to introduce new regulations for the collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of used clothing, textile recycling has never been more relevant. The progress in the field of optical sorting with hyperspectral cameras is particularly promising for this development.
Plastic Flake Sorting: The application of hyperspectral cameras in plastic flake sorting was another topic. Especially the cameras’ resolution is paramount in sorting applications and one of the most important factors to achieve accurate and precise results.
